Abstract: The paper carried out a comprehensive research on the chemical constitution, composition, and mosquito-repellent effect of N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) and permethrin, and compared their safety in garment. The mosquito-repellent effect of the garment was tested by spraying DEET-containing mosquito repellent and permethrin-containing mosquito repellent on the fabrics respectively. Results indicated that the mosquito-repellent effect of the mosquito repellent B containing permethrin was better than that of the mosquito repellent A containing DEET. And mosquito repellent B lasted longer and was more suitable for the application in mosquito-repellent garment.
