Abstract: The paper introduces the recent research progress in improving the moisture absorbency, dyeing ability and abrasion resistance of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fiber via modification, in developing differential PPS fiber and in developing related apparel fabric. It also analyzes the application prospects of PPS fiber in certain fields such as protective garment.
