Abstract: Commuter Trucker Jacket, which is the smart jacket produced by Google and Levi’s, can detect touch-input, and process the touch-input to generate touch data that is useable to control various remote devices. This technology is called Project Jacquard which is developed by the Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP) of Google. This technology is to make a textile be a flexible multi-touch plane. In the article, the technology of Google Project Jacquard is discussed through patent analysis. The patent portfolio for interactive textiles is analyzed.
