Methods for Evaluating the Structure and Properties of Electricallyheated Garment

Abstract: Electrically-heated garment is a kind of smart heated garment that is popular on market and technically mature. This paper reviewed the main components of the electrically-heated garment: heating system, temperature monitoring system, power supply and user interface. In addition, the methods for evaluating the performance from three aspects, namely the testing of fabric’s electrical-heating properties,the testing of garment’s heat-protective properties and the testing of garment’s comfort properties, were summarized. Finally, the developing trends of electrically-heated garment were forecast based on discussing the insufficiencies in evaluating the structure and properties of such garment.
