Study on Properties of Warp-knitted Base Fabrics and Related Impregnated Alkali Peeled Fabrics

Updated: 2/5/2016 10:18:09 AM

Abstract: The warp-knitted base fabric made of EHDPET/COPEET sea-island composite filament of different specifications, high-shrinkage polyester filament, polyurethane filament and conventional polyester filament are processed into microfiber synthetic leather through impregnating in polyurethane (PU) and alkali peeling. This paper researches the properties of these base fabrics that are knitted in half tricot stitch with different types and specifications of yarns and their impregnated and alkali peeled fabrics. The result indicates that the base fabrics with Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) are easier to combine with PU adhesive than those with Draw Texturing Yarn (DTY); the compact impregnated and alkali peeled warp-knitted fabrics with FDY and DTY have greater lengthwise extensibility but lower breathability; the impregnated and alkali peeled warp-knitted fabrics with the minority of high shrinkage polyester and polyurethane filaments have higher deformability and recoverability. The water vapor transmission (WVT) of the four kinds of microfiber synthetic leathers exceeds 6 000 g/(m2·d).
