A Comparative Analysis of the Wearability of Ramie/Cotton Fabrics with Different Blending Ratios

Updated: 9/9/2015 11:34:50 AM

Abstract: The performance of several woven ramie/cotton fabrics with different blending ratios are compared in the paper. The wearability of these n fabrics are analyzed and compared in terms of strength and elongation, drape, abrasion resistance, pilling resistance, wrinkle resistance, air and moisture permeability, and capillary effect and so on. It points out: ramie/cotton blended fabrics with higher ramie content have better moisture-absorbent and air permeability, pilling resistance, strength and elongation, but the poorer softness, drape, wrinkle resistance and abrasion resistance. When developing ramie/cotton blended fabric, we should determine the appropriate blending ratio according to the needs of enterprises and users.

Key words: blending ratio; moisture absorbency; ramie/cotton fabric; wearability
