Abstract: Ramie fabric was pretreated by strong alkali, and then with self-made cationic gelatin protein. The dyeing effect of modified ramie fabric was discussed, including dye uptake, fixation yield, dyeing depth and color fastness. The results showed the pretreatment process could effectively improve the dyeing effect, and achieve dyeing with salt-free and lower alkali dosage.
