Abstract: The paper points out that using PVA in textile sizing will generate non-biodegradable COD which makes printing and dyeing water hard to reach discharge standard. The paper first states that there are no technological obstacles for “eco-friendly sizing” and then puts forward some measures for popularizing “ecofriendly sizing” and the energy-saving and discharge reduction results it leads to, and finally it compares the process route of source treatment with that of end-of-pipe treatment.
