Study on the Coolness Property of Summer Bed Fabric

Abstract: Two groups of fabric each with three kinds of fabric in same specifications were woven respectively with pure cotton ply-yarn, hemp/cotton blended ply-yarn and polyamide filament ply-yarn, and based on which, how will different twist as well as different fiber types and densities of weft yarn influence each fabric’s surface properties and coolness property was investigated. The results show that the excellent hydroscopicity, moisture penetrability and liquid permeability of the fiber can improve the heat conductivity of fabric, and the increase of yarn twist is an important means for improving the heat conductivity of fabric and the fabrics which use hemp/cotton blended ply-yarn as weft can provide the fabric with good “cool” and “fresh” performance.
