Abstract: Quality control in the production of PTT yarn, especially the dyeing quality of PPT fiber and the neps control in recombing process, was described in this article. In order to improve PTT yarn’s evenness,some effective measures before spinning process were presented. The worsted fabrics containing PTT fiber were produced by blending Merino wool with PTT staple fiber. The resulted fabric demonstrate both the characteristics of pure wool fabric, such as supple & drape, good resiliency, strong wool-like effect, soft and crease resistance, and the characteristics of polyester fabric such as easy to wash & quick to dry, good dimensional stability and durability, which is suitable for making high-grade casual wear.
