Abstract: The article elaborates the technical bottlenecks of waste textiles recycling process and main characteristics of the near-infrared technology used in the identification and composition prediction of waste textiles. It also points out the existing problems and feasibility of using near-infrared technology for the identification and composition prediction of waste textiles. It claims that it is feasible to identify and predict the composition of waste textiles by using near-infrared technology, for on one hand, it can break the technical bottleneck that constraints the recycling and reutilization of waste textiles – sorting, and on the other hand it can improve the quality of products regenerated from waste textiles.
