Abstract: Recently, the application of knitted fabrics including warp-knitted, circular-knitted and flatknitted fabrics in medical & hygiene, environmental protection, transportation, aviation & aerospace and new energy fields has made remarkable progress. This article briefly introduced knitting technologies and their application in technical textiles and made a comparison on knitting equipment at home and abroad. The application, research and development of axial structure technology, reinforced structure technology and fully-fashioned technology were highlighted. Moreover, the developing trends of knitting materials were also discussed. The wide adaptability of raw materials and the high-efficient production of knitting equipment provide extensive solutions for widespread use of technical textiles.
