Abstract: In view of the media exposure of silk quilts quality problems, samples chosen from shopping mall, on-line store and production enterprises were tested to see the fiber content, fluorescent whitening agent content, oil content and residual silkgum content. The result shows some samples are unqualified. 10 batches of samples use substandard labeling of fiber content. 6 batches of samples contained fluorescent whitening agent, which masking bad cocoon and leftover appearance. 9 batches of samples with oil contentwere more than 1%, and some even reached 2.6%, which would cause reduced warmth and comfort. Residual silkgum content were about 2% to 4%, and 10.8% in maximum, which would affect the warmth and bulkiness, and lead to harden and yellowing. Silk quilt producers should pay attention to product quality control, strengthen self-discipline, supervision and management.
