Abstract: A modified cotton fiber adsorbent was prepared successfully by grafting amino-terminated hyperbranched polymer (HBP-NH2) onto oxidized cotton fibers. Its technology of preparation was optimized based on the adsorption quantity of Cd2+. The results showed that the modified cotton fibers have the highest adsorption capacity up to Cd2+ when 20 g/L HBP-NH2 reacted with oxidized cotton fibers at 60℃ and 11.03pH value for 2 h. The adsorption quantity of Cd2+ could reach 38.94 mg/g.
