Abstract: Small wind turbine blade is going to fail when the aerodynamic load in the operation exceeds its ultimate load. For small wind turbine blade with uniform cross section, its composite material can also be designed to optimize the blade’s performance. In this paper, the mechanical properties of a stand-alone wind turbine blade with uniform cross section were studied. Besides, based on analyzing the force condition of wind turbine blade, a solution to improve its performance was put forward.
