Abstract: Foam dyeing and finishing is a kind of low wet pickup process, which has the benefits of saving water, energy and dyestuff, and improving the efficiency of production. It is one of the energy saving,emission reducing and eco-friendly dyeing and finishing technology. In this article, the development of foam dyeing and finishing technology was reviewed at home and abroad. The working principle of foam dyeing and finishing equipment was stated. The characteristics of several kinds of foaming machine and exerting foam machine were compared. Application of the technology in denim mercerizing, fabric whitening, warp sizing, fabric and carpet dyeing, carpet printing and functional finishing were introduced. The application prospect of foam dyeing and finishing was also predicted.
