Abstract: Three-dimensional braided composite materials have outstanding advantages in aerospace applications. However, there are some problems yet to be improved in the production of such materials,such as low automation level, poor product uniformity and reproducibility. With a lot of research efforts and in accordance with the characteristics of the braiding technology, a highly automated large-scale knitting machine for three-dimensional braided materials has been developed, with high efficiency and self fault diagnosis function. For several years, it has been running smoothly and produced a lot of composite parts for aerospace application.
