In this paper, the mechanism of shape memory alloys and polymers was described. Combined with research results, the author introduced various types of shape memory textiles. It was pointed out that the shape memory materials should be studied further, meanwhile, fiber processing, yarn production and weaving technology also require fully research, in order to raising the application value of the shape memory materials in textile industry.
