Besides apparel and home textiles, the technical textile is another historic contribution which the textile industry has made to the human society. Technical textiles can be and have been widely used in such industry area as agriculture, traffic, aviation and spaceflight, sanitation and so on. In the developed countries, technical textile is the end-result of traditional textile industry transformation; in China, technical textiles are confronted with great market opportunity; at the same time, technical textile is a direction for the upgrading of the traditional textile industry.
