The Development of Hydroentangling Water Jets

Updated: 2/7/2007 11:33:00 AM

Hydroentanglement or spunlacing is a nonwoven production technology that uses high-powered water jets (or water needles) to strike the fiber web put on supporting belt at high velocity from both above and underneath the fiber web, so as to cause the fibers in the web to entangle, knot and wrap to each other and make the web consolidated. The device that generates the high-pressure water needles is called hydroentangling water jets, which has direct effect on the properties of the spunlaced nonwoven products and production efficiency.
