Abstract: The inherent felting behavior of wool has seriously influenced the quality of wool fabric, resulting in poor appearance and wearing property, especially during machine laundry, bring inconvenience to consumers. So it is necessary for wool fabric to go through shrink-proof finishing for anti-felting purpose. The article first gives an overview of the current situation of the shrink-proof finishing of wool textiles and then introduces three kinds of commonly used methods of shrink-proof finishing, namely plus methods, minus methods and plus-minus methods, with both advantages and disadvantages of each kind of method are analyzed. Finally, by comparing the finishing effect and finishing process of each kind of method, it looks forward to the future development of shrink-proof finishing.
