Gu Ming, Gu Ming Artistic Dyeing and Finishing Studio

Abstract: Artistic dyeing and finishing is a newly developed branch of learnings, which is different from the traditional tie-dyeing and industrial printing and dyeing. Its rich and varied artistic expression and characteristics of “humane dyeing and finishing” have broken through the limits of traditional tie-dyeing technique. The extraordinary and artistic fabric texture it created not only has distinctive ethnic features, but also expresses modern fashionable ideas. Therefore, it is expected to have great market potential when being used for developing textile products. Based on introducing the development of home-textile products and analyzing the process of “artistic dyeing and finishing”, the article discusses the feasibility of applying this new concept to the R & D of home-textiles.
