Abstract: Exploring a new path to industrialization is the way for Chinese dyeing and finishing machinery manufacturing industry to maintain sustainable development, while quality, innovation and quick response are the supporting points for reaching the goal. The key breakthrough strategy is to ensure the stability, reliability and consistency of product and improve adaptability of dyeing and finishing process. Technological innovations should meet the requirements of a cleaner production process, i.e. energy saving, low consumption, low pollution, reproducible, safe and high productivity. By introducing a number of real cases of technological innovation practices of enterprises, the article discusses the mode of technological innovation that is currently adopted by dyeing and finishing machinery manufacturers, which features a route from imitation innovation to collaborative innovation and independent innovation. It also reasons the necessity for enterprises to establish innovation system and gives some constructive opinions.
