In order to better grasp the development of poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride) (PDMDAAC) dye-fixatives, this paper made a systematic summary on previous studies. It introduced their development of study on preparation and fastness properties, and mechanism, in addition, some advices were given to resolve the shortcomings.
