The principle, merits and applications of magnetron sputtering on fabric finishing were introduced,including research progress on the development of antibacterial, electromagnetic shielding, UV proof, waterproof and breathable and other functional fabrics by magnetron sputtering both at home and abroad. The authors pointed out that the magnetron sputtering technology is a promising method on fabric finishing.
