Supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-CO₂)dyeing technology, an environmentally benign and commercial available technology, has many advantages with the low power consumption, minimum waste, easy operation and short process. However, due to the high-pressure equipment and high investment cost, it is important for developing and spreading of this technology to design and manufacture the suitable equipment for SC-CO₂ dyeing process. The progress of research and manufacture of supercritical CO₂ fluid dyeing equipment in recent 20 years was summarized in this article. The key equipments and technologies were highlighted. The prospect of supercritical CO₂ dyeing equipment was also discussed.
