In this paper, the authors explored the influence of fiber cross-section and filament number on the frictional behaviors and moisture-related properties of some shirt fabrics under low pressures. Results showed obviously that fibers with X cross-sections have bigger friction coefficients compared with fibers made of round cross-sections; and more filaments will lead to more friction. Additionally, it was found that for T-shirt fabrics, the skin side fiber compositions influence greatly the mechanical friction between skin and fabrics while the air side fiber compositions have greater effects on the moisture related properties of shirt fabrics.
