Abstract: Cashmere is a rare special animal fiber, a noble textile material. The article analyzes China National Standard GB18267-2000: Cashmere and sums up its characteristics; objectively and systematically evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of this new standard; and probes deeply into the problems found in practical testing. The possibility of using this standard as a reference for revising and updating standards of other special animal fibers and hairs is anticipated and related suggestions are given.
