Based on introducing briefly the methods of developing graphics, the paper summarizes two applications of fractal theory in textile engineering: one is using fractal graphics for textile pattern design and textile weave design, the other is using fractal theory for analyzing fabric properties, including permeability of woven fabric and surface texture of fabric. The application of fractal graphics opens up new horizons for textile pattern design, while fractal theory is a powerful tool for solving complicate problems in textile engineering.
