Abstract: By introducing first the formation and then the structure of tuck-in selvedge on projectile loom, the article discusses the measures for overcoming the weaving difficulty caused by both thickened selvedge as a result of doubled weft density and increased waviness of selvedge end, which include proper setting of overcastting selvedge end, reducing selvedge thickness and cross-over points, and taking control of the warp density at the joining point of ground end and selvedge end. Examples are given on processing and designing tuck-in selvedge for most representative fabrics.
