Abstract: The article discusses how to improve the sizing properties of chitin size by enzyme degradation of chitosan. Single and composite enzymes are searched and screened out and the prime conditions for enzymatic modification, such as temperature, pH value, time and dosage of enzyme, are studied. Sizing trials are carried out, and the abrasion resistance, regenerated hairiness and tenacity of the sized yarn are tested and investigated. All these efforts are designed to find out the optimal process for improving the sizing property of chitin size.
