Abstract: Using polyester monofilament as spacer yarn and low-stretch polyester filament as face yarn, several kinds of weft-knitted fabric with different specifications were produced on a double circular knitting machine and related knitting technology was explored. Also, the compressive properties of the fabrics were measured, and the pressure-deformation curve and some factors influencing the compressive deformation and recoverability were analyzed. The experimental results indicate that under equal other conditions, the increase of spacer yarn fineness, fabric density and the distance between dial and cylinder is favorable to reducing compressive deformation and improving recoverability.
Key words: weft-knitted spacer fabric; monofilament; compressive deformation; recoverability.
