Editor’s Note: Shuttle-less looms are key equipment for the weaving sector to make breakthrough in its technical upgrading campaign and they have been developing rapidly in China. The article here in is an invited report written by Hong Haicang, senior engineer of Shanghai Textile Engineering Society. Based on analyzing current application and anticipating future development of shuttle-less weaving machines, particularly rapier and air-jet looms in China, the author expresses his views on how to select the right rapier and air-jet looms that comply with the need of the weaving sector for improving technological level and readjusting product structure.
