The paper introduced the main technologies of wastewater treatment for polyester industry at home and abroad. Furthermore the two factors influencing the effect of the wastewater treatment，that are the treatment for restart shutdown or breakdown of polyester plant and the breakdown of wastewater treatment facility were analysed. Based on the analysis，some optimization solutions were suggested.
