Abstract: Aromatic polyamide fibers are the most famous and commercially successful fibers with natural fire-retardant and heat-resistant properties. In which, Kermel^® fiber is up to now the only commercialized polyamide-imide fiber. Based on introducing the structure and properties of Kermel^® fiber as well as the characteristics and applications of Kermel^® fiber blended fabric, the article discusses the latest development of polyamide-imide fiber production technology.
