With the social development and the rising of people’s living standard, some consumers require add anti-bacterial or bacteriostatic functions to textiles. Anti-bacterial fibers have emerged to response the need. The article introduces a new regenerated cellulose fiber with anti-bacterial property－Chitcel, which is made from chitin, the only animal fiber with positive charge ever discovered in the nature. It discusses the mechanical property, the anti-bacterial property and wearing property of this fiber and looks forward into its future development.
