At present, biodegradable materials are increasingly used in medial material field. The fiber made from natural biodegradable alginate and gelatin is ideal for making medical materials thanks to its high biological activity, excellent physical properties, good styptic function, good absorbent quality and antibacterial property. The article discusses the fiber-forming principle of alginate/gelatin blended fiber, the spinning process and its application in producing medical materials.
