The research project for developing an integrated 45,000-t/a viscose staple production line won the first prize of the national award for scientific and technological progress in 2006. The article introduces 5 key technologies adopted in this project and major innovations in technology, key equipment and process. Based on practical experiences, it analyzes the importance of management innovation in accomplishing a major integrated project and interprets the equal importance of economic benefits and social responsibility in planning and implementing the project.
