The continuous improvement of the chemical fiber industry has provided a platform and developing opportunity for spin finish. The R&D and application of eco-friendly high-performance spin finish was also listed as a major program incorporated in the 12th Five-Year Plan for Science and Technology Improvement of China Textile Industry. Gaps of domestic products with the leading international levels as in product portfolio, performance and application ranges were investigated. Through an investigation and analysis on technology trends and market demands, conclusions were that there remains significant potential to develop spin finish here in China.
