Abstract: The principle of compact siro-spinning technology is introduced in this paper and the structure and properties of compact siro-spun cotton yarn are discussed. The results of tests show that compact siro-spun cotton yarn has the positive features of both compact-spun yarn and ply yarn, featuring significantly reduced hairiness, improved yarn strength and evenness, smooth and compact surface, and the two-ply structure can be clearly seen after detwisting.
