Abstract: The article first briefly introduced the evolution of cotton combing machine and reviewed major innovations and progress in the past more than six decades and pointed out the problems existing in conventional combing machine and then put forward the concept of computer numerically controlled combing machine. The author introduced his designing ideas from the program control of all moving parts on the machine, the use of stepless frequency converter, the selection of new-type motor to the LCD screen display of production parameters and centralized control based on man-machine dialogue.
