Due to a shortage of oil, stress from environment and climate change, bio-technology has been a new solution for the sustainable development of man-made fiber industry, and bio-polymer fiber is a kind of core products. This article focused on the development of some new bio-polymers at home and abroad,in terms of production capacity, product development, technology achievements, and so on, and briefly introduced the research status quo of bio-science applied in some pioneer textile segments.
