This paper reviewed the development route of compact ring spinning technology over the past fifty years and introduced the application as well as the quality and features of the specified yarns. Characteristics and performances of several prevalent compact ring spinning systems were investigated and the author pointed out the localization and status quo of compact spinning technology. Significant potential widely exists for China’s domestic compact spinning technology.
