Editor’s note: As a typical industry of circular economy, recycled polyester has been paid close attention worldwide, thus some recycling system emerged, such as bottle- to-bottle, fiber-to-fiber. To develop circular economy, some policies were issued in China lately, and recycling of PET bottle and textiles is taken as a significant aspect. Although recycled synthetic fiber in China, mainly polyester fiber is booming in production capacity in recent years, there are still many problems to be solved urgently. Interviewing some experts of recycled polyester industry, this feature tried to take a deep insight into this industry in terms of raw material, technology,market, third-party certification, etc., and hoped to provide some references for the industry practitioners.
