This article introduces the development of Chinese medical and hygiene textiles industry briefly, brings forth the restraining factors of this industry, including deficiency of standards and regulations, weak public innovation service platform and system construction, as well as lack of policies guiding and guarantee mechanism. However, the development space of this industry is quite considerable, especially for differential and functional medical materials, biomedical fiber and textiles. In the end, the author puts forward several countermeasures to promote the healthy development of this industry.
