Currently, traditional dyeing technologies are the primary production methods in domestic printing and dyeing enterprises. Because of its large consume and sewage discharge, the printing and dyeing industry is under great stress from the request of energy conservation and environmental protection. In this situation, some new dyeing technologies receive more attention. As the principal dye for cellulose, reactive dye has made progress in its dyeing technology, such as cold pad-batch, shortened, foam, airflow dyeing and wet-steaming process. The merit and demerit of these new technologies are analyzed and compared in this article from the perspective of practical production.
