With the assistance of theories on textile global value chain and the method of PEST, an analysis about China´ s textile and apparel industry status in the chain and the global challenge it is now facing is made in this article. In addition, with the practical situation of China being considered, new ideas and suggestions on how to upgrade China´ s textile and apparel industry are brought up finally.
