Based on “smile curve” and value chain theory, this paper has put forward that the transition and upgrading of Shaoxing textile industry depend on the ascent of the whole “smile curve”. The industry should not only develop creation, design and marketing, but also improve technology to increase the value-added of manufacturing process.
