Although the fundamental of the clothing industry in Xinjiang is relatively weak, there are still great potentialities in this industry. The current situation of the fundament, investment and employees of clothing industry in Xinjiang were analyzed. And lots of superiorities of developing the textile and clothing industry in this region were also described. Finally, a specific countermeasure of constructing a processing export base of clothing which is suited to the needs of the residents in central Asia was provided.
