This paper systematically introduced the definition of carbon footprint and relevant evaluation standards. Based on life-cycle assessment(LCA)framework, the author presented the carbon footprint assessment of apparel product in detail via dividing the whole process into five stages. Analysing the carbon emissions of products is no doubt a significant move for apparel makers, because it can help to identify the weakness in product’s life cycle, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the sustainable development of the apparel industry.
